60% of all kitchen chores are done at the sink. And most of the time it doesn’t stay clean. Here we’ll show you how easy our sinks are to clean and which care products are best suited to your quartz composite sink from SCHOCK.
IN BRIEF
The key questions and answers about keeping your SCHOCK sink clean and looking good.
You can use ordinary household cleaners, such as washingup liquid, to clean your sink. We recommend the SCHOCK care range created for your specific product in addition, as these substances have been specially developed for the sink’s quartz composite finish. For instance, using DurCare on the premium CRISTADUR® finish with the dirt repellent effect makes dirt and grime easier to remove. The EasyCare Set is suitable for both material finishes. With regular use it will keep SCHOCK sinks looking good and protect them long term.
For intensive cleaning, dissolve max. 2 dishwasher tablets in 3 litres of water and apply the solution to the dirt or stains and leave it to soak in, preferably overnight. Then rinse with plenty of clear water and dry with a cloth – and stubborn dirt will be a thing of the past. SCHOCK also offers you a perfectly matched range of care products. Our EasyCare Balm is optimally suited to giving your sink some TLC after cleaning.
For CRISTADUR® and CRISTALITE® sinks we recommend keeping the surface clean with ordinary washing-up liquid or a SCHOCK magic sponge. If you have a light-coloured sink you can use the EasyCare Brightener from time to time. Then seal the surface with EasyCare Balm.
We recommend you use the EasyCare Descaler to quickly and eff ectively remove limescale, soap scum, cloudy build-up and grime. It also gets rid of stubborn scale deposits, preventing germs and bacteria from taking hold.
Remove metal abrasion residue from pots and baking trays and other stubborn discolouration with a damp magic sponge. Apply light pressure and rub in circular motions over the stain, then rinse with clean water.
Years of kitchen life and kitchen chores are bound to leave their mark. The finish on a SCHOCK sink can easily be refreshed with the help of the DurCare Set.
The best way to clean our mixer taps is to use conventional washing-up liquid and a sponge or cloth. Avoid bleaching agents or acid-based cleaners and rough sponges (such as metal pot scourers).
General care instructions
To ensure that your SCHOCK sink remains beautiful and functional for many years to come, we recommend the following care tips:
- For daily cleaning, simply use a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge.
- For particularly effective care, we also recommend the product-specific care range from SCHOCK, as these substances have been specially developed for quartz composite surfaces.
- Dirt is particularly easy to remove from the premium CRISTADUR® surface with its beading effect — regular use of the care products maintains this effect in the long term.
Please do not use highly abrasive cleaning agents such as scouring powders, chlorine-based cleaners, drain cleaners, alkalis or other solvents, as these can cause lasting damage to your sink.
You can easily keep your SCHOCK sink hygienically clean and remove even stubborn stains using mild cleaning and care products.

CARE TIPS FOR
DEEP CLEANING FOR LIGHT-COLOURED SINKS
Apply plenty of water and a little washing-up liquid to a washing-up sponge (without a scouring pad) or dirt eraser and wipe the sink in circular movements. Rinse with plenty of clean water and then dry the sink with a soft microfibre cloth.
To remove stubborn limescale deposits, soap residue or grey film, apply our Easy Care Descaler or another mild descaler evenly to the surface to be cleaned and leave it to work for 15 minutes. Then rinse with clean water and wipe dry. Repeat for stubborn limescale deposits.
EASY CARE DESCALER
Remove metal abrasion residue from pots and baking trays and other stubborn discolouration with a dampened dirt eraser. Apply light pressure and rub the stain in circular motions, then rinse with clean water.
MAGIC SPONGE
To brighten your sink and remove all remaining stains, bacteria and germs, please fill your sink with warm water to a depth of approx. 2 cm. Add Easy Care brightener or 30 ml of a standard chlorine- or oxygen-based bleaching agent.
Leave the solution to work for 25 minutes and then rinse with plenty of fresh water. Wipe the sink with a soft dry cloth and then leave it to dry completely for 30 minutes.
Repeat the process for stubborn stains. Protect your hands and eyes when using bleach.
EASY CARE BRIGHTENER

The sink must be completely clean and dry before sealing. Cover any parts that are not to be treated with plastic film and apply the Easy Care Balm as thinly and evenly as possible. It is best to apply a small amount of balm to the areas to be treated and spread it carefully with a clean fleece or microfibre cloth.
After leaving it to work for 1 minute, remove any excess balm with a dry fleece or microfibre cloth. The product must be completely absorbed; it must not remain on the surface. The freshly treated sink should be protected from moisture for at least 6 hours, after which it is ready for use again.

EASY CARE DESCALER
Fill the sink with approx. 2 centimetres of hot water (approx. 60°C). Add 1 dishwasher tablet or 2 tablespoons of standard household washing-up liquid to the hot water and stir well until the tablet has dissolved (caution: risk of scalding).
You can apply the washing-up water generously to the drainer or the edge of the sink with a washing-up brush. Drain the washing-up water after 90 minutes and rinse the entire surface with plenty of cold water.
If necessary, use the damp dirt eraser to remove any remaining residue. Then rinse again thoroughly, wipe the sink with a dry, soft cloth and leave it to dry for at least 30 minutes.
Please use a hairdryer and set it to the highest setting. Direct the air flow from a distance of 5 cm onto the affected area for 3-5 minutes until the discolouration disappears.
If the discolouration is severe, you may need to repeat this process. Please do not use hot air guns or similar devices, as these are too hot and will cause lasting damage to the sink. To protect the sink from further moisture penetration, please seal it with our Easy Care Balm.
