Inventing quartz composite sinks? That's exactly what we're doing!

We invented the quartz composite sink back in the day. And we've been constantly reinventing it and ourselves ever since. How, you might ask? By envisioning innovation in the most gorgeous of colours on the drawing board, in the lab, on the tool bench and in our heads – in the process not only creating more than 200 sink models in as many as 40 colourways but also shaping the future of our industry. Indeed, innovation leader is a rather apt description for us, with our 90 patents. And in fact more than 60% of all sinks the world over are made using our methods. But there's one thing we always used to keep to ourselves: the special combination of our products themselves – hand-made in Germany – and our international trend scouting activities. We don't follow a certain direction, we follow our intuition. And what that means for us in figures over recent years is:

The machinery and materials we've used in doing this have changed time and again over the course of the last 90 years. But the tools have remained the same. HOW DO WE MOST LIKE TO IMPRESS PEOPLE? ACROSS THE GENERATIONS!

We at SCHOCK work according to standards that are anything but standard. That goes for our manufacturing of premium, environmentally sound sinks and recyclable packaging materials and likewise for our demands in terms of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly production. We have halved our water consumption since 2007, for instance, and achieved raw materials efficiency of 90%. Independent certification through ISO 14001 and EMAS (the European Commission's certification scheme) serve to underline what is important to us: healthy growth on all levels.

And that is one of the reasons why we produce our quartz composite sinks exclusively in Germany, as the only manufacturer of our kind to do so – under the most stringent environmental standards in the world and as a voluntary member of the Environmental Pact of Bavaria.

And it's why there's much more to the topic of resources for us than just the water from our production process, 95% of which is recycled, or the natural Bavarian silica sand we source from the mountains around us. It's also about aid organisations like Ohole Ambassadors, who are using our financial resources to provide education and a future for people in the Okahandja slum in Namibia. Through our involvement we want to do what pioneers always like to do best: helping to shape the future. And making life not only that little more colourful but perhaps also that little bit easier.
